Everything you type in the Halfstep app (tasks, brain dump, steps, habits, energy, mood, weekly notes) is stored only in your browser on your device. It is never sent to our server. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it if you clear your browser data. Use “Download backup” in Settings to keep a copy.
When you unlock the app, your license key is sent once to our server, which asks Gumroad whether the key is valid. We do not store the key or any log of it beyond what our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records for a standard web request.
Payments are processed by Gumroad, which acts as the seller of record and collects the information needed to process your order (name, email, payment details, location for sales tax). Gumroad's privacy policy applies to that information. We receive your email address and order details from Gumroad so we can provide support and refunds.
The site uses no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, may process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
